In the latest iteration of "Weigh-Ins" - an MMA focused spinoff of The Ginger and The Beard Podcast, we recap the fights that took place during UFC Vegas 11, headlined by Tyron Woodley vs. Colby Covington. Afterward, we give our preview of UFC 253, discussing who we think will take home the belts and more!
With Tyron Woodley suffering yet another loss, this time to long-time rival, Colby Covington, there is much to be questioned when it comes to his future with the UFC. Most would say that he is past his fighting prime at this point, and it's pretty clear that his heart is no longer in the sport. In fact, post-fight commentators Rashad Evans and Kamaru Usman both implied that it might be time for Woodley to take a long look at what's next for him in the sport.
On the same card in which a long-standing athlete in the sport may be seeing his way out, another is making a name for himself. Khamzat Chimaev left fans in shock again with a 17-second knockout of Gerald Meerschart. This was a much-anticipated fight as well, given the fact that Khamzat was double booked by the UFC, and he certainly proved that he was worthy of such a notion.
Finally, we rounded out the show by talking about the two upcoming title fights on the UFC 253 card - Dominick Reyes vs. Jan Blachowicz, and Israel Adesanya vs. Paulo Costa. There is so much anticipation building with these two fights, and both fights could go either way. What are your thoughts on these fights? Who do you think will be the new champion of the Light Heavyweight division?
