Ep. 17 - Underwater Robot Dogs

Would you spend $74k on a robotic dog that can walk to the seafloor and explore? We talk about that and much more on our latest episode of our MMA, technology and video game podcast! This week we had a lot to cover in the UFC, tech and video game industries. Check out the video below for the full podcast episode!

On episode 17 of The Ginger and The Beard Podcast, we covered some of the most interesting and relevant topics from the industries we love - tech, video games, and UFC – and, of course, we had a lot of laughs and a great time doing it!

As we start every show, we cracked up a couple of cold craft beers, and for the second week in the row, our beers were chosen by our Instagram followers.

The Ginger had the pleasure of trying a "Low-Pitch Juicy IPA" from Hi-Wire Brewing in Asheville, NC. An easy-drinking IPA, with low bitterness and no lingering hop taste, this is an intro into IPAs.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, The Beard had precociously-purple Marionberry Sour from Rogue Ales. Fruity with a little sweet and a little tart, this is a great choice for those who like a tasty sour.

After opening our beers, we dove into our predictions for the latest UFC Fight Night: Curtis Blaydes v. Alexander Volkov. We talked about a few underrated fights on the card that we were looking forward to, as we as some news from the sport of Alexander Volkanovski considering a fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

After our UFC Shenanigans section, we covered a few stories from the tech industry with a major focus on Apple's WWDC event which actually took place today. We also talked about the pros and cons of having Tesla solar panels on your house. Finally, we discussed how Boston Dynamics is now selling their robotic dog, Spot to business for $74k! What would you do with a robotic dog?

To round out the show, we geeked out over how amazing the new Star Wars: Squadrons game looks. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the gameplay video! If you've ever dreamed of piloting an X-Wing or TIE Fighter, you will soon be able to do so in fully-immersive VR in this new Star Wars game as you battle another team of ships in PvP combat.
