At the beginning of this COVID-19 outbreak, there were little breaks of sunshine in the form of creative new craft beers coming from some of our favorite local breweries. This Island Quarantini from Back Bay's Farmhouse Brewing is a perfect example of that.
Name: Island Quarantini
Brewed By: Back Bay's Farmhouse Brewing
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Style: New England IPA
The first time I tried this beer, I was fully expecting the typical hazy, citrusy, over the top IPA, but I was surprised by what I actually tasted. The first thing you'll notice is just how thick this beer is, it's like pouring a fruit juice, and that's the mouthfeel you get as well. It's very much a full-bodied experience, and it caught me a bit off guard at first.
What you will notice next is the strong mango flavor. I'm not a huge fan of mango to begin with, but when you're outside in the hot sun, the flavor is much palatable. Overall, if you're into thick, fruity, tropical beers, this will be right up your alley!
