If you're a UFC fan and you haven't yet heard of the Herb Dean late stoppage controversy that happened in the Francisco Trinaldo v. Jai Herbert fight during UFC Fight Night 174, then you may want to come out from that rock you're living under.
To recap, the Herb Dean late stoppage controversy came about when Trinaldo rocked Jai Herbert with a straight shot to the forehead, knocking him to the mat. After hesitating for a second, Trinaldo was told by Herb Dean to continue, landing three additional strikes from the top to finish the fight. You can watch a video of that here.
The real controversy comes when Dan Hardy, a former UFC title contender working as a color commentator, yelled from his seat to "stop the fight." After the fight, Dan Hardy and Herb Dean exchanged a few words, and there seems to be a division amongst fans regarding who was right.
Was this a late stoppage by Herb Dean? Should he have stopped the fight after Jai Herbert hit the ground, or did he make the right call? And, was Dany Hardy out of line? If you've listened to our last couple of episodes, you know our stance on the matter, but we want to hear from you!
